OUR NAME

“Kai-Viti” loosely translates as “Proud to Be From Fiji.” More literally “Kai-Viti” means “he’s from Fiji” and “Kae-Viti” means “that’s from Fiji.” “Viti” refers to the main island of Fiji—Viti Levu (that’s the island where we bottle our water).

To us, “Kai-Viti” is simply a statement of pride: we are proud of each bottle we produce and even more proud that our product represents the people and Islands of Fiji.

Fiji vs. Viti (for the curious): “Viti” is what the original inhabitants of Fiji called their home. When Captain Cook first explored the area, he began to refer to it as Fiji because the neighboring Tongans called it “Fisi”.
